Above: France , silver Livre ( 1/6 ecu), 1720-A (2x). This is the only true "John Law" coinage, struck as a single denomination, in a single year (1720) at a single mint ( Paris ). Coined at lighter standards, it nevertheless was to pass at 1 Livre (20 sols). When the speculative bubble popped, this coin was briefly valued at 30s., then 25s., then demonetized, the former weights returning.
