Above: W.H. Scott & Co., St.-Eustache, Lower Canada . Note dated July 25, 1837 for 15-sous, 7 ½ -pence ( Halifax ) or 1- Spanish-American "real" (all the same). A lukewarm rebel during the uprising of 1837, his home and store were destroyed by Loyalist "irregulars".
